Bikes have become one of the most effective ways of commuting as these bikes have fuel efficient engines and even comes out of traffic easily, due to its small and compact bodies. All these reasons have led to increase in the number of bike riders all over the globe. Bike riding is even a pleasurable and adventurous sport which is now increasing and this has caused to the increase in the number of accidents.
Today there are even bike lanes on city road and highways following and maintaining these lanes will help to avoid accidents in a number of ways. Even in few countries there are traffic signals where in there is special time slot for bike riders just as for pedestrians. As the number of bikes is increasing every year in each city of America the figure of bike accidents has even gone up.

Observing few traffic rules and being alert while driving are some of the best ways to avoid accidents when on bike. Follow the next set of rules or guidelines and you will be at minimum risks with such incidents.
- Wearing highly visible helmets and clothing will allow other drivers and riders to have a proper view of the rider on motorcycle. Incase of fog or at night time you use the headlights. Headlight gives a judgment of the oncoming traffics.
- Maintain lane position and showing indicators during turns will help you to avoid accidents. Even check out for brake lights this will give rough idea to the driver or following vehicle of your braking.
- Keep a two hand distance when you are following, overtaking or maintaining the lane. This way you can avoid accidents which happen because of urgent braking.
- If possible scan the roads ahead when you are driving that is have a proper view of the traffic as well as the roads. This way you can get idea of potholes and other speed bumps on road.
- Prepare well before you start your bike that is checking on the brakes, tire pressure etc.
