Buick regal is a mid size sport sedan introduced by General Motors in 1973. The first model was called Buick century regal. It was the top model special coupe. These cars were manufactured from 1973-1977. It came in 2 body styles i.e. 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan. Buick regal was based on front engine and rear wheel drive layout. It was powered by

Then it was upgraded to a downsized regal. These cars were manufactured from 1978-1987. Second generation Buick regal created benchmark to classic buick cars as it was equipped with a turbo charged 3.8 liter engine. Available versions had 2-bbl or a 4-bbl carburetor. It was powered by

Completely new regal appeared in 1988 it was powered by V6 with no turbocharger. It again came in 2 body styles the 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan. In the coupe model it aimed purely at individual luxury buyers.1988 Buick regal was powered by

Buick Gran Sport

Buick Gran Sport or even known as GS was a high performance package which was optional on many Buick models. Riviera, Skylark and Wildcat had these options. 1965 Skylark Gran Sport was the first Buick Skylark with the Gran Sport option. It had the largest engine with 400 cu in Buick V8 6,555 cc engine .Riviera GS was a high performance and upgraded version of Buick Riviera. Wildcat GS and Century Gran Sport are the other available models. Regal GS this upgraded version was introduced during 1988 to 2004.the 1988 model was powered by 3.8 liter, 231 cu in series l V6 engine. Which generated 170 horsepower.1977-2004 model featured 3.8 liter, series ll supercharged V6 engine. This generated 240 horsepower. General Motors has confirmed that in 2011 it will come with 255 horsepower Buick Regal GS.
